Believe it or not, these beautiful necklaces are made from recycled magazines! They are carefully hand crafted in Uganda in support of the Kasiisi Porridge Project - an independent British-registered charity which helps feed schoolchildren a nutritious meal every day. Each piece of jewellery is unique due to the variety of coloured pages used from different magazines. The pages are cut into narrow strips and then tightly rolled into beads, which are then varnished and put together with small plastic beads to form one thread. Then 3 threads are strung together to make the amazing Triple Necklace!

Dimensions: All pieces vary in size slightly as they are each handmade but the Triple Necklace's full length (including fastener) is approximately 41cm - 46cm when the necklace is undone.

Plastic fastener unscrews in order for the necklace to be put around the neck.


About the Kasiisi Porridge Project

The charity's aim is to raise £100,000 to help feed primary schoolchildren at two schools in Western Uganda. School-based health and nutrition programmes can increase attendance and academic achievement. The money being raised is to give a daily mug of porridge to more than 1,500 children at Kasiisi and Kanyawara primary schools, for the next 3 years.
